Aloe Manor is situated in the little country town of Parys, Free State on the southern banks of the Vaal River. It is approximately an hour’s drive from Johannesburg. What makes Parys an interesting and exciting place to visit is that it is situated within the Vredefort Dome area - the place of the oldest and largest meteorite impact site in the world. Aloe Manor is only a 3 min drive to Vaal de Grace Golf Estate that boasts an 18 hole championship golf course designed by former world number one Nick Price on a island in the Vaal River, as well as a 3 min drive to the Parys Golf and Country Estate which also boasts a spectacular golf course. Both are offering amazing scenery with play along the banks of the Vaal River.
The Aloe Manor country-style house has three bedrooms with one en-suite bathroom in the main bedroom and one shared bathroom for the remainder of the house. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a small dining table, lots of cupboards, dishwasher, gas stove and a lounge with a Plasma TV with M-Net and local channels. The Aloe Cottage has an open-plan fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area with two three-quarter beds and a TV with M-Net and local channels. There is a full bathroom, a beautiful garden, a small paved courtyard and an outdoor table set under a Robenia tree.
Aloe House and Cottage guests have access to a lekker braai area with garden furniture.
If you are not in the mood for golf, there are some lovely hiking trails in and around the town and up in the surrounding countryside. Parys is also closely situated to the popular Berakah 4 x 4 challenge. The town is scattered with art, antique and coffee shops and you can do river rafting, horse riding trails and abseiling as part of the lineup of activities available. The Vredefort Dome is second to none in the world when it comes to geological treasures and history surrounding the meteor site.
